The Italian customs administration has updated the national system of import by applying the data model defined at the Union level and named EUCDM (European Union Customs Data Model), starting from 9 June 2022.

From this date, the IM message is therefore replaced by the following defined paths by Union legislation:

H1 – Declaration for release for free circulation and Special procedure — specific use — declaration for end-use

H2 – Special procedure — storage — declaration for customs warehousing

H3 – Special procedure — specific use — declaration for temporary admission

H4 – Special procedure — processing — declaration for inward processing

H5 – Declaration for the introduction of goods in the context of trade with special fiscal territories

This also means that the data requested in the customs declarations will differ as the new IT system will refer to the data requested in Annex D of the Commission Delegated Regulation No 2015/2446.

These changes may result in customs delays for economic operators if not all parties are ready for this change.
